African Pygmy Goat Our African Pygmy Goats originate from West and Central Africa and have a lively and charismatic nature! Even though they are a small species of goat, they are excellent climbers and will jump on anything they can find. Our goats are extremely friendly and love a scratch and a cuddle from visitors over at the Children's Farmyard. Guinea Pig Guinea pigs are small, sociable and very chatty rodents originating from the Andes mountains in South America. They live in large groups together and communicate through chirps and squeaks, making them an interesting species to watch over in the Children's Barn. Miniature Donkey This species of donkey originates from the islands of Sardinia and Sicily and used to be used as working animals in the 18th Century. Now, miniature donkeys are a charismatic and popular species with all visitors due to their gentle nature and unexpected vocalisations! A female donkey is known as a Jenny, a male is a Jack, and a baby miniature donkey is called a Foal. Oxford Sandy and Black Pig Also known as the 'Plum Pudding Pig' due to its unique ginger and black spots, this rare breed of pig originated in Oxfordshire over 300 years ago. They have been on the brink of extinction several times, but due to dedicated conservation efforts the Oxford Sandy and Black Pig has enjoyed a resurgence in numbers over recent years. Rabbit Rabbits are a highly social species, living in large family groups with females having up to 50 babies in a year!
